Life Story

I was born on November 7, 1983, and was raised in a Christian home with parents who greatly loved me. From the early stages of my life, I had the privilege of attending a strong, doctrinal church and being rooted in the Lord. At the age of 6, I realized my own sinful condition and trusted in Jesus Christ alone as my Savior. My teenage years were good, but they just weren’t godly. I was the model church kid who never rebelled and never got involved in any serious sin. The problem was, I was never fully, radically committed to Jesus Christ. It wasn’t until my junior year of college that a proper understanding of God’s grace completely changed my life. Understanding God’s love for me helped me to realize He alone is the greatest treasure in life, and I’ve spent the last seven years of my life trying to make up for lost time. I’m learning more how to love Him and pursue Him passionately with each passing day.

The Lord has been very gracious in blessing me with my wife, Sheila, who shares the same passion for Jesus as I do. We were married on May 28, 2005 and have been entrusted with three beautiful children: Olivia, Levi and Reid. In June 2007 God moved Sheila and I here to Landmark for our first position in full time vocational ministry. I served for almost four years as the youth pastor before becoming the senior pastor in March 2011.

Dream for Landmark

My greatest desire for our people to realize is that knowing Jesus Christ and making Him known are both our greatest joy and responsibility in this life. Said succinctly, my passion is helping our people realize: “Only one life, will soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.”

Life Story

I was raised in a good home. My dad, through both verbal instruction and personal example, taught me the importance of being a hard worker and how to be polite and respectful. Those lessons have proved to be invaluable! For as long as I can remember, my mom, who had a strong desire to see her children trained up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord took me to church every Sunday and Wednesday. It was through my training, both at home, as well as at church, that at the age of 5 I realized my eternal destiny would be a place called hell because of who I was as a sinner. That thought terrified me and one night, lying in my bed, I trusted Jesus Christ to be my personal Savior. As I grew, I was privileged to be a part of several great church families that God used to shape and mold my life in my early years. When the time came, I went to a Christian college and began to pursue a business degree. It was during my freshman year at college, in the first Bible class that I’d ever had, that the Lord turned my heart to Himself like never before. No longer was the business field my desire. The Lord put in me a new desire to know Him and a desire to make Him known. Following the God-given desires of my heart, I redirected my studies to Pastoral ministries and pursued an education that would help in training me to live out this new passion.

While at college in the fall of 2005, the Lord graciously crossed my path with Amy's and we were married on August 2, 2008. The Lord led us to Landmark that same summer. I currently serve as the Business Manager and Amy serves as our academy's secretary. It is a tremendous joy to serve the Lord together here at Landmark!

Dream for Landmark

The Lord is continuing to teach me that there is nothing on this earth more valuable than treasuring Christ. With that being said, it is my dream for Landmark that we be a people who would understand that, “Christ is not valued at all, unless he is valued above all,” and genuinely pursue a life that reflects this truth.

Life Story

I was born in Louisville and since my dad was on staff at Landmark for most of my childhood, I attended church from the time I entered the nursery all the way through my senior year in high school. Though I faithfully attended church, I never truly had a deep personal relationship with Jesus. As a young boy I made a profession of faith, but my life showed no evidences of God’s grace in my life. Spiritual indifference and ignorance dominated my church life through my high school years and eventually I left Landmark to attend Pensacola Christian College. While at Pensacola Christian, God rocked my boat of indifference through the tragic death of my brother. In 2004, I met my soon-to-be wife, Amber. Over the next couple years, God used the pain of my brother’s death and the tender spiritual coaxing of a faithful girlfriend to bring me to Him. By the time I graduated college, Amber and I married and had joined Victory Baptist Church in Milton, FL. Over the next several years through the sound, biblical teaching of my pastor, my indifference and ignorance dissipated and a hunger for Jesus become the driving force of my life. Shortly after becoming a teacher to the young people at Victory Baptist, I accepted the title of Youth Pastor there. In June of 2011, I moved back to Louisville to serve as the Youth Pastor at Landmark.

Dream for Landmark

My desire for Landmark is that it will become a place that fosters deep, passionate relationships with Jesus. I pray that through faithfulness to the scriptures, we will grow beyond indifference and ignorance to the joyous relationship that can be had with Jesus and that through that relationship we would be motivated to be His followers in both word and deed.

Life Story

My parents raised me and my three sisters in a Christian home, and we attended a Bible-believing church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Since my father led the church choir and congregational singing in our church, my whole family enjoyed singing and was always involved in some type of music ministry. I accepted Christ as my personal Savior at a Sunday School Valentine party when I was five years old. After fourth grade, I attended a Christian school and was greatly influenced for Christ by my principal and his wife, my high school choir director. As a junior in high school, I surrendered to God’s leading in my life to be a Christian school teacher.

The Lord directed me to Florida for college where I met a beautiful elementary education major, Angie. We were married and taught together at Pensacola Christian Academy for 16 years. During this time, the Lord not only taught us many lessons about teaching but also gave us two wonderful children, Emily and Mitchell. In June 2007, God miraculously called us to Landmark Baptist Church and Landmark Christian Academy.

God has obviously worked in our lives since we joined the staff at LIBC. Spiritual growth, Christian fellowship, and new service opportunities are only a few of the benefits God has given us since coming in 2007. What a thrill to be able to serve God in both of the loves He has given me: teaching/administrating at LCA and directing the music at LIBC. It is a joy to serve our great God!

Dream for Landmark

My prayer for the music of LIBC is that it would honor our incredible God and build our love for Him foremost. May it never exalt individuals nor build desires in us that are contrary to the still small voice of the Holy Spirit’s leading. The goal of the music in each service is to prepare our hearts for the preaching of God’s Word.

My prayer for Landmark Christian Academy is that we will be a school that inspires students to have a heart for Christ. May our students not be satisfied with mild, nominal Christianity but be sold out to doing whatever God calls them to do. It is my desire that the Lord will call many of our students to full-time service for Him as missionaries, pastors, and teachers, serving in the fields “white unto harvest.”
